Data analysis is just one role in the wider “data analytics” world (I’m also a data scientist if you have a more niche or complicated requirement).
I’ve been a data analyst for 10+ years officially, but have been working with data in general much longer than that. Some example projects that I’ve worked on in the past include:
- Working with customer data to help cluster users into sensible segments for further analysis, targeting and messaging
- Using raw server logs to help with SEO analysis by using Python and SQL to process extremely large files
- Automating the extraction of social media data from APIs, storing it in a SQL database, and visualising it using Metabase to create useful dashboards for decision makers
